"4 Animals at Trophies Plus"

Driven TV Hey guys! I hope this update finds everyone happy and having a great season! We just got home early this morning from Trophies Plus Outfitters hunting with Mike and Ester Watkins in Montana and Wyoming.

As always, we had another awesome hunt! We had four tags to fill before we left and let’s just say we got it done! The first morning out I went along with Pat and cameraman Mike Law to see if we could fill Pat’s Montana deer tag. We had a nice whitetail 400 yards out and we tried to stalk up on him but with the terrain out there, we all know it’s not easy! The second day we decided to set up next to a water hole where we had seen a few nice mule and whitetail bucks passing through so we were hoping to catch one of them. The sun was just starting to peak over the trees when Pat spotted a nice mule buck on the horizon about 275 yards away. Pat squeezed the trigger and put the smack down on an awesome 165” mule buck! He ran down the hill out of site, and tried to cross the creek but couldn’t make it up the other side! He made an awesome shot on that animal, way to go Patrick!

That afternoon we decided to go out and try to fill my antelope tag, now the keyword in that sentence is TRY. We snuck up on a herd and I had picked out a buck and tried to shoot off the shooting sticks 335 yards but I shot right over his back! Whoops! So we drove on to find another herd, and when we came on top of the hill there stood a dandy antelope buck feeding by himself. We bellied crawled to 150 yards and I tried to make a shot and it hit right over his back (again). I think I better stick with shooting a bow, what do you think ? The antelope took off and stopped again at 335 yards and I gave Pat the gun and he made an unbelievable shot on him! When we walked up to the antelope we had no idea he was as big as he was, he was a Boone & Crockett antelope scoring 82".

Driven TV Okay so Pat’s catching up to me now!! The next day Mike Watkins decided to send us to a new farm in Wyoming to try and fill Pat’s deer tag there. On our way we decided to stop at Devils Tower because cameraman Mike Law and I had never been there before. After visiting Devil’s Tower we headed on to meet up with guide Skip Peterson who was already waiting for us at the cabin! This country was beautiful; we were hunting in the Black Hills. The next morning we woke up and hunted all day just seeing a few small bucks. We headed back to the cabin for a gourmet meal Skip had fixed for us and got ready for the next mornings hunt. The next morning we hadn’t seen much when we spotted a doe coming out of the woods and directly behind her was a nice 8 pointer. He walked back into the woods without Pat getting a shot so we started shooting cut a ways and all of a sudden I spotted him not 40 yards coming up the trail right to us! Pat pulled up his muzzleloader and once again, put the hammer to him! Number 3 for Pat for this trip, he’s catching up real quick but that was only until later on that afternoon when we went out in hopes of filling my antelope tag!

Driven TVWe spotted a herd near the lodge so we decided to stalk up on them. We bellied crawled 100 yards to the top of a hill where they were bedded down below. I waited for him to stand up and I shot him at 250 yards and he piled up like a ton of bricks! So I redeemed myself, well sort of! Pat sure thought he was going to one up me on this trip but I guess I had another thing coming to him! Well we gotta run, we are off to Illinois to see if I can’t get number 5 on the ground! Talk to you soon! Hope your season is going well!

Stay Driven,

Pat & Nicole
