"2nd Chance at Fair Chase Outfitters"
Hey everyone! Hope your fall is going great, I can’t believe it’s already November 24. I just got home from visiting my family in Illinois for Thanksgiving to find out that Pat shot another big buck! He was trying his luck again in Minnesota at Fair Chase Outfitters where I shot my nice 9 pointer earlier in the season.
This hunt would have to be one of Pat’s favorite hunts of the year because he got to share it with his four-year-old son, Carson. Pat, Carson and cameraman Donny Hansen were set up in a valley in a new Double Bull Hay Bail Blind. Only 45 minutes into the hunt, Pat spotted the nice 8 pointer nosing around some does.
After looking at him through his Nikons, Pat recognized the
buck as the “Swap Buck” that they had Cuddeback pics of earlier in the year. He
began feeding right down the hillside towards them giving Pat a 100 yard shot
with his muzzleloader. He made an unbelievable shot dropping him in his tracks!
Carson couldn’t believe that his dad actually hit the deer! Ha! He kept saying,
"You got him dad!"
The entire time the buck was closing the distance Pat was trying to keep Carson from sticking his head out of the window! He just wanted to see the big buck! Hey, all I can say is watch out dad because we have a true little hunter that can’t wait to get out and shoot his first buck! What an awesome hunt it was for the guys, I just wish I could’ve been there to share it with them! Carson was so proud of his dad and now tells everyone to look at “his buck, an 8 point buck!” Thanks so much to John & Kate Redmond at Fair Chase Outfitters for this unforgettable hunt!
